Opening Night: Pam Hogg’s ‘Doctor’s Orders’ at Q Shoreditch

The launch of Pam Hogg’s newest club night ‘Doctor’s Orders’ was celebrated with a fashion-anecdote-rich Q&A, embellished by a string of star guest DJs, and graced by the most beautiful, extravagant, and outright cool people that London’s current fashion and music scene has to offer.

It takes a lot to get me to Shoreditch. I know, I know - East is where most of London’s most stylish icons reside and swear allegiance to. Yet, I am a West Londonder through-and-through, and seeing the postcode ‘E….’ lurk at the bottom of an event flyer forces a sharp inhale from me, one that braces for the trek ahead.

With this in mind, the fact that I want to return for every Doctors Orders night that now follows says… a lot. It truly was an incredible night. The whole affair was a masterclass in transportation - in the kind of pure and beautiful escapism that is achieved not through intoxication, liqueur, and substances, but through the art of music, creativity, and pure effort. With ‘effort’ being a pure kind of dedication, devotion, and care for art. Art is a divinely broad and varied thing, but it was celebrated in abundance here - in its fashion form (no doubt to pay a loving homage to Pam), its make-up form, and through free and embodied dance.

Embellishing the presence of Pam Hogg was a guest list of dreamy Londoners, from both the music industry - Rhys Webb from The Horrors, Peter Perret - and the fashion industry - Rockins goddess Jess Morris and a host of insta-heavy influencers.
